Community Learning

Groundwork Sessions: Where knowledge meets action, rooted in community.

For Change

Knowledge & Action

Groundwork Sessions

What are they?

Groundwork Sessions aren’t your usual training programmes. These are shared learning spaces built with and for BIPOC-led, migrant, diaspora, and Global South organisations.

We start with your reality. Every organisation and every person brings a different story, shaped by community, identity, struggle, and strength. We want you to be able to see your own work in a bigger, interconnected picture, because the challenges we face are global — and so is the solidarity we build.

We don’t believe in top-down workshops. Instead, we facilitate healthy discussions and create a space for your own knowledge and local experience to shape the process. Together, we dig deep into the themes that matter — and build real skills to take that learning into action.

Over a decade of hands-on experience as community organisers in the Global South and diaspora communities in the Global North

Deep, trusted relationships with grassroots communities

We centre lived experiences and local knowledge

No one-size-fits-all: Every learning journey is tailored to your organisation’s goals and context

We don’t just teach — we work alongside you. Because community work isn’t theoretical. It’s lived. It’s collective. And it’s powerful.

Format & Flexibility

Minimum 6 months commitment

Two sessions per month (2 hours each)

Format can be online, hybrid, or in-person

We recommend at least one in-person session to ground the process

We’re flexible. We’ll co-design the schedule and approach around your availability and community context.

Here’s a glimpse into how we combine thematic issues with practical tools. These are starting points — we’ll build something with you, not for you.
